Information Collection & Use by MilitaryPlanet
MilitaryPlanet collects information provided by Members such as name and email address to authenticate users and to send notifications to those users relating to MilitaryPlanet Services. MilitaryPlanet also collects profile data including but not limited to: gender, age, personal interests, and military information in order to assist Members in finding and communicating with other Members.
With the exception of inviting buddies, adding buddies, and notifications, a Memberīs email address is not shared or displayed to people within a userīs personal network or group. Members within a personal network or group communicate on MilitaryPlanet through the MilitaryPlanet Services, without disclosing their email addresses. Membersī full names are never directly revealed to other Members. To assist in searching and finding friends and acquaintances on the service, MilitaryPlanet allows users to search for other Members using first and last name, screen name, email address, and military stations where users may have attended.
MilitaryPlanet also logs non-personally-identifiable information including IP address, profile information, aggregate user data, and browser type, from Members and visitors to the site This data is used to manage the MilitaryPlanet website, track usage and improve the website services. This non-personally-identifiable information may be shared with third parties to provide more relevant services and advertisements to members. User IP addresses are recorded for security and monitoring purposes
Email Options
MilitaryPlanet or a partner, including MilitaryPlanet parent company Orion International and its subsidiaries, may send email updates through user email addresses including but not limited to news and newsletters about free services. Users may choose not to receive email of this type by un-checking Send Me Updates in their Profile.
Blogs & Public Forums
MilitaryPlanet users can choose to make their blog posts public or private, and to allow or disallow comments. Please be aware that whenever you voluntarily post public information to blogs or forums, said information can be accessed by all Members and can in turn be used by other Members to send you unsolicited communications.
Revisions to Privacy Policy
A Member is bound by any minor changes to the Privacy Policy when she or he uses the site after those changes have been posted. We reserve the right to change our Privacy Policy and our Terms of Use & Conditions at any time. Non-material changes and clarifications will take effect immediately, and material changes will take effect within 30 days of their posting on this site. If we make changes, we will post them and will indicate at the top of this page the policyīs effective date. We therefore encourage you to refer to this policy on an ongoing basis so that you understand our current Privacy Policy.
